2020 Toyota Camry

The 2020 Toyota Camry is new in the way that it is performance-oriented and due to its distinction for impeccable reliability, it is a strong contender in the sedan segment. It comes in three powertrain options – a potent V-6, fuel-efficient four-cylinder, and an eco-friendly hybrid.

What Is New?

A huge upgrade is the TRD trim. While Camry continues to offer sport-themed XSE, SE trims, the TRD relates the performance ability of the vehicle significantly. This racier Toyota Camry rides on refined dampers supported by more robust springs that lower Camry’s height by 0.6 inches. Additional chassis braking, beefier anti-roll bars, and wider but lightweight wheels wrapped in the summer rubber make the Camry TRD more powerful.

The 2020 version has a unique aerodynamic body kit with red interiors to finish the look. All of the variants feature Android Auto. Another notable addition is all-wheel drive that has been absent in the Camry versions since 1991.

Engine And Performance

The 2020 Camry comes in 6 different trim levels – L, LE, XSE, SE, TRD, XLE. While most trims come with a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine generating torque of 184 lb-ft and 203 horsepower (in XSE models, add 3 hp, 2 lb-ft), the XSE and XLE are 3.5 liter V6 (276 lb-ft, 301 hp).

Every standard 4-cylinder engine comes with an 8-speed automatic but the acceleration numbers can be disappointing. The real gem is the 301-hp- V-6 that is available in the XSE and XLE models. However, 2020 Camry offers a responsive handling and controlled ride. Its steering is pleasantly weighted as well and feels smooth while maneuvering in parking lots. The brake pedal is also pretty responsive in all the variations but, in the hybrid, it can be hypersensitive at lower speeds.

Interior

The top-level XSE, as well as the SE variant, are comfortable and spacious whereas XLE is luxurious. You may notice a serious difference in the material quality between the more expensive and the entry-level models. The 2020 Camry is a spacious sedan with plenty of interior storage in its trunk as well as its cabin with the foldable rear seat. The hybrid’s battery has also been relocated beneath the Camry’s rear seats from the trunk and so, hybrid owners do not have to give up on space for extra mpg.

Connectivity

The Entune 3.0 or Toyota’s touchscreen infotainment system is standard across the Camry lineup but you can choose an enhanced version. Entune has various features and responds well to user inputs. The new addition to 2020 Camry is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. It also comes with Amazon Alexa and, thus, offers a complete smartphone experience.

Driver-Assistance Features

Camry has earned impressive remarks from two safety agencies – 5-star NHTSA rating, IIHS’ Top Safety Pick. Key safety features are – standard adaptive cruise control, standard lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warning, and automated emergency brakes and standard forward-collision warning.

Conclusion

Toyota Camry is a mid-sized sedan that offers a pleasurable drive and great features. Its safety marks make it a highly safe vehicle. Apart from it, the 2020 Camry is considerably spacious.
